100g spinning batt
Week 2 of being sneaky!! Still playing around with blends over here, still feeling experimental, still getting fabulous results 🙌🏻 This week is the meeting of the x breeds, and two I wouldn’t immediately think to put together. The Columbia x is DENSE, it’s like the cheesecake of wool. And the Romney x isn’t Romney-ish at all - it’s more like a BFL/merino pretending to be a Romney - it’s got curl and drape and it’s so open and light.Â
Initially I was going to blend some merino with the “Romney x” but as I was setting that up I spied the Columbia nearby and couldn’t picture what the two would be like together, so obviously I had to make a little and see. I loved it!! Love-loved it enough to go back in for a Mega Batt.
Expect a spin that drafts like a classic medium wool but with some wierdo energy happening. I feel like it’s dancing in the draft, it’s just doing some smooth interpretive stuff that’s got me invested.
Fibre Content: Equal parts Columbia x Corriedale from Roberta Chase and Romney x ?? from Bradley Dreamscape Farm blended together with 10% Yak down and 5% Sari SilkÂ
*Colour vary from screen to blah blah blah. Sari silk bleeds! Set the twist in cool water to help with that!Â
