Hand washed, picked and carded wool
"Mike” Icelandic blended with 20% alpaca. Mike is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to learn or practice their long draw- this fleece has an incredible staple length! The alpaca will lend to the warmth and softness of the finished yarn but this is a primitive/coarse wool so outerwear/slippers etc is kind of the move. I have many Icelandic Lopi sweaters, mittens, slippers and socks (it’s SUCH a good sock yarn). This wool “breaks in” over time when worn, the Tög fibres work their way into the fabric and you get a wind proof/water resistant, warm and incredibly light garment/accessory. Honestly I could go on and on, this is my fav breed, I’ll stop now 😂
