The Design: I have been OBSESSED with blending long wools and fine wools for the past few months. It started on my carder with a merino/gotland blend like this one and I loved the spin and resulting yarn so much. I brought a few batts with me to a wool show in March and have since experimented with all kinds of fine+long wool type combos and ratios, sent them out in my Sommelier Fibre Clubs and harassed my friends to try the blend. I seriously cannot get enough! So when I was looking at the raw wool shelves and dreaming of things to send to Shelterwood, this batch practically jumped out and attacked me. I went with the original classic and grabbed a Mendenhall merino (we have worked with many and know them well) and a Gotland x from a producer up north that we get loads of great wool from. This yarn is super unique, really lively and has good drape and squish. Love love LOVE.
